UAE exchange plans to install water purifiers in govt schools

KOCHI: UAE Exchange, an United Arab Emirates based company dealing primarily in remittance, currency exchange and bill payment solutions, has informed that the company was planning to install water purifiers in government, said a top official.

Informing this at a news conference here, UAE Exchange Managing Director V George Antony said as part of its 35th anniversary, the company was planning to install water purifiers in about 300 government Anganwadies, LP and UP schools across the state.

Stating that this was as part of Suchitwa Mission, an initiative of the Union Government, he said a sum of Rs 30 lakh would be utilized as part of its CSR in the first phase and later it would be extended to other schools in other states.

He also said the company had also planned to have a yearlong celebration along with their customers and with the society, he added.

UAE Exchange India believes in bringing a transformation in children, the future of the country. Children need to be taught the importance of water and its conservation. Things learned at a young age will not be a forgotten and it will be passed on from one generation to the next, he added.

Eligible schools would be selected after receiving applications from schools across the state, he added.
