NEYYATINKARA: A woman was killed after the car in which she was travelling hit a transformer early Tuesday morning at Pravachambalam. An ambulance carrying youths, who sustained injuries in the accident, to a private hospital in Neyyatinkara overturned after hitting a divider.
Fire force rescued the driver and the youths trapped in the ambulance. The woman killed has been identified as Indira Francis alias Geetha (62), native of Kuzhithura. Her relatives Aldobahin (38) and his friend Subahar (23) sustained serious injuries. They have been admitted in a private hospital in Neyyatinkara.
The accident happened when those in the car were on their way to the Thiruvananthapuram Airport to see of Aldo. The car lost control and rammed into the transformer on reaching Pravachambalam.
