KOZHIKODE: Union Minister of State Mullappally Ramachandran on Saturday walked out of the UDF district convention held at Kozhikode.
Mullappally’s boycott follows issues regarding the Vadakara seat. Mullappally will not take part in seat discussions with UDF leaders and in the reception party to be organised by Socialist Janata Democratic (SJD).
Much earlier the Socialist Janata had asked for Vadakara seat but the Congress is said to have expressed his difficulty in giving up the sitting seat and instead offered them a Rajya Sabha Seat. Socialist Janata, but, rejected that offer.
In the last Lok Sabha election, Kozhokide seat was the one offered to SJD, but the party refused the offer as it was not a member in the UDF. But now the party says the situation is no more the same.
