RSP will fight it out alone in Kollam; Premachandran is the candidate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The RSP on Saturday decided to fight the Lok Sabha election alone from Kollam, in the wake of CPM denying it a seat. The CPM had already decided to field Politburo member M A Baby MLA from Kollam.

The RSP came to this conclusion at a meeting attended by senior leaders including RSP National secretary Prof. T J Chandrachoodan.

The meeting criticised CPM for its big brother attitude. A A Asis asked what was the use, if the CPM calls a meeting of LDF partners, after taking all decisions on its own.

Meanwhile, Kollam District Congress leadership, taking political advantage of the situation, has been trying to bring the RSP into the UDF fold. They have even started thinking of supporting Premachandran. Sooranadu Rajasekharan has said that if the RSP was ready to leave LDF, it will be received by the UDF with all due respect. RSP leader and minister Baby Johan has also hailed the decision of RSP as daring act.
